Collection: Sergio Mario Illuminato

Born in Catania, Sicily, in 1963 and now based in Rome, Sergio Mario Illuminato is an eclectic Italian artist whose formal artistic journey began in 2019. With a background spanning visual arts, philosophy, theater, and journalism, he holds degrees from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, and has completed a contemporary art course at MoMA.

Illuminato works in painting and sculpture, exhibiting internationally in solo and group shows across Europe and the UAE, with a permanent online presence on platforms like Wikiart and Saatchi Art. He has curated exhibitions such as "Around Futurism" and "Around Seduction," and contributes to art magazines like Artribune. His publications include essays and the book "Corpus et Vulnus."

His creative endeavors extend to media, with credits in RAI television productions and documentaries for organizations like the United Nations. He also has experience in theater direction. As the founder of the VULNERARTE Movement, Illuminato's art explores the concept of "Corpus-et-Vulnus," focusing on fragility and transformation through mixed media and site-responsive installations in unconventional spaces. His artistic philosophy, influenced by artists like Kiefer and Parmiggiani, emphasizes process, dialogue, and the "Aesthetics-of-Convergence."
